COURSE CONTENT:
A. Identification of learning needs of the individual student
1. Self-assessment of student learning needs
2. Identification of preceptorship experience preferences
B. Performance of psychosocial assessments
1. Psychiatric assessment tool/interview
C. Development of concept map for various psychiatric clients
1. Collection and organization of data
D. Concept of classroom theory and client data to clinical experience
1. Safe physical and psychological care of clients
2. Performance of interventions for appropriate level of care
3. Confidentiality and privacy of all clients
4. Ethical and legal implications
E. Effective communication within the health care setting
1. Oral understanding of student learning objectives
2. Process recordings
3. Written documentation of student learning objectives
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance of classes/labs/clinical is necessary. It is the policy of the ADN program to
deduct one point from your course grade for your second and each subsequent
absence AND your second and each subsequent time lost (TL). A demerit is given for
each and every absence from clinical. A 12 hour clinical constitutes 2 clinical days,
thus, 2 demerits will be given. At any time, the instructor can present your attendance
record to the faculty committee for evaluation for determination of your continued
enrollment in the ADN program. Please refer to your class/lab/clinical contract. Also,
refer to the ADN handbook.
