It works simply by touching, watching and feeling. In compare to traditional media that has only images with text, moving images and audio can tell us more than thousands of words can do. DIGITAL PUBLISHING in TURKEY First example of digital publishing in Turkey is “Dipnot Tablet”. There are over 30 digital publications in Turkey’s market today. 16 Publications were made in Digital Publishing Suite. Bumag is the first university tablet magazine in Turkey’s market and one of the first example in the worlds market. Supported and administrated by faculty, Haluk Gürgen, (Dean) Fatos Adiloglu (Department Head) and Guven Catak (Faculty Member) and the head of the board of trustees Mr. Enver Yücel. INITIATION CREATION: BUMAG Introduced to Digital Publishing Suite in 2011 May in Adobe CS5.5 meeting which have taken place in Bahcesehir University. And brainstormed on advantages and the opportunities of this media with considering technological developments in the future. A decision was made to create a digital magazine that covers the university news, social life, student projects, essays etc. that initiated by Bahcesehir University Communication Design students. CREATION: BUMAG Bahcesehir University has always trusted creative industries with its open-minded and innovative inertia. The entrepreneur team of students presented the project to the department and the faculty, and received the support of administrators who covered the budget. The first issue was published in April 2012 including application, design and content. EDUCATIONAL FEATURES of EDUCATIONAL FEATURES It is the most suitable media in the sense of design considering both audio, visual and interactive design for a Communication Design student. New Media students can experience recent features by involving one of the newest media in the industry. Advertisement students can develop interactive advertisements in the tablets. EDUCATIONAL FEATURES Cinema & TV students can promote themselves with their projects to great numbers of people. Photography and Video students can show their works easily and digital publishing media is really effective way to accomplish this. Public Relations students can create new campaigns and make contact with right target audience and companies quickly. Creating Bumag digital magazine constructed Bahcesehir University’s identity in this field, while helping to manage its reputation at the same time. coming soon PROJECTIONS BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB BUG is a game lab project, started by Bahçesehir University, Communication Design Department. BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB Inspired by the motto “If the current system doesn't work, we need a bug to fix it!” BUG sets out to fill in the blanks. BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB Focusing on video games and playful interaction design, BUG aims to be a communication and education platform for the game scene in Istanbul and young enthusiasts and entrepreneurs who want to develop games. GAME DOC A documentary is made to cover the game scene in Turkey as a starter. BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB BUG launched with a collaboration with MIT Media Lab in May 2012. BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB BUG has started with a boot camp on 24th June. For three weeks participants will attend to game design seminars and develop games at the end. BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB BUG Summer School had 521 applicants. 31 instructors from the industry and academy started the program with the selected 41 participants , a.k.a “bugs”. It will continue for 3 weeks of a loaded program covering 3 major steps of game design and distribution such as “concept development”, “production” and “channels of distribution” BAHCESEHIR GAME LAB With the fall semester, BUG plans to start its series of global education seminars and local market events.
