College of Charleston Bilateral Exchange Program BAHCESEHIR UNIVERSITY Istanbul, Turkey Bahcesehir University is located in the heart of Turkey’s historic capital, Istanbul, on the shores of the Bosphorus at the crossroads of Asia and Europe. It is an international university which offers students the best possible experience in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan and global cities. A private university, Bahcesehir contains six academic faculties and conducts most of its classes in English. Here students can broaden their perspective and receive a world class education. Eligibility: Students must have a 2.5 GPA. Program Dates: Students may attend Bahcesehir for the spring semester (February to late May) or Academic Year (end of September to late May). Application Deadline: March 1: Academic Year. September 1: Spring Semester. Credit: The courses taken at Bahcesehir must be preapproved by the appropriate academic department for potential transfer credit. Cost: Students pay College of Charleston tuition and fees to study at Bahcesehir. Students are responsible for their housing, meals, airfare and incidentals. Most CofC financial aid will apply. Housing: Students live in university accommodations (dormitories). Bahcesehir has four dormitory buildings for students to choose from. Subjects Offered: Courses taught in English include offerings from the Faculties of Communication (Advertising, Cinema and Television, Photography and Video, Public Relations, Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design), Economics and Administrative Sciences (Economics, Business Administration, International Trade, Political Science and International Relations, International Finance), and Arts and Sciences (Mathematics and Computer Sciences, American Culture and Literature, Sociology, Psychology, Science, General Education, Modern Languages, Education Sciences).
