INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

SUNNEN® CK-125A RATCHET PAWL REPLACEMENT KIT

INTRODUCTION
Sunnen®
CK-125A Ratchet Pawl Replacement Kit
is designed to replace the CK-125 Ratchet Pawl
Assembly on Sunnen SV-10 Vertical Honing
Machines.
7. Install new Bushing, Ratchet Pawl Assembly,
Flatwasher and secure with Capsrcew (refer to
Figures 1 & 2).
8. Re-attach Extension Spring.
TOOLS & MATERIALS
VARIABLE FEED RATCHET ADJUSTMENT
The following tools and materials are required for
unpacking and installing of your Machine:
Hex Wrenches
Cleaning Solvent
After replacing Ratchet Pawl Assembly, check
Variable Feed Selector and adjust as required:
TO CHECK:
INSTALLATION
1. Turn power off.
Read the following instructions carefully and
thoroughly before unpacking, inspecting and
installing the Kit. To install Kit, proceed as
follows:
2. Set variable feed to 9.
1. Move Drive Arm Assembly completely to the Left.
2. Raise Drive Arm Assembly to full up position.
3. Turn off main electrical power switch.
3. Manually rotate hone tool and count the number
of "clicks" the ratchet makes.
4. The number of clicks should be the same as the
setting on the variable feed.
Example: Feed set at 9 should produce nine clicks.
TO ADJUST:
4. Locate Ratchet Pawl Assembly on underside of
Drive Arm Assembly (see Figure 1).
1. Get a 1/2" end wrench
5. Remove Extension Spring (see Figure 2).
2. Loosen LockNut on gear box end of Feed Push
Rod (see Figure 3).
6. Unscrew Socket Head Capscrew and remove
Screw, Flatwasher, Ratchet Pawl Assembly and
Bushing (refer to Figure 2).

3. Rotate Feed Push Rod to adjust length for the
correct number of clicks.

NOTE: Shortening Feed Push Rod will increase the
number of clicks.
4. Tighten Lock Nut.
