Sun Moon University Korean Language Institute (KLI) was founded on March 20th 1989 with the purpose to
spread Korean language and culture to the world.
Ever since its establishment, more than 13,000 students from over 132 countries have studied here and many
of them went on to further their studies at Korean universities including Sun Moon University; those who have
returned to their countries are employed by localized Korean companies, became Korean language teachers
or translators besides working as international leaders in various fields. Among 200 universities in Korea, Sun
Moon campus is well-known for its diverse community with approximately 1000 students from 89 countries
studying here every year.
Sun Moon Korean Language Institute is one of the best language institutes with many Unparalleled
achievements. We were selected for “Korean Language Training Program University Grant” by Ministry of
Education and also designated as one of the language institutes for Korea Global Scholarship Program
Scholars’ Korean language education beginning 2008.
We have held fast to our mission to provide international students with the best learning experience studying
abroad by providing language courses and various activities that enable our students to engage in the local
Korean culture. We are also committed in preparing our students for their future career thus we guide them
throughout the admission process into university with our systematic counselling program. Believing that
language ability comes with practice, we encourage our students to take part in the Korean language tutoring
volunteer program with Korean students.
Moreover, we have also been constantly working towards realizing the globalization of Korean language
by establishing overseas branches in Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan while also dispatching many
outstanding Korean Language Instructors overseas.
