GUAa-POOL Shock is a highly
concentrated liquid disinfectant
which is designed for shock disinfection of swimming pool water
when you start using the swimming
pool or in extreme conditions of use
of the swimming pool - high temperatures, large number of bathers,
weather conditions, presence of
algae or other problems with water
in the swimming pool. It is suitable
for all swimming pool types with or
without filtration. Combined with
GUAa-OXI it will ensure rapid and
effective disinfection or “recovery”
Dosage: Apply 200ml/10 m3 directly to water or through a
filter device. Apply the product when the circulation is on and
subsequently let it mix well in the entire volume of the pool.
Dosage frequency: when you start using the pool or if the
water load is extremely high.
GUAa-POOL

GUAa-POOL is a highly concentrated liquid disinfectant with strong
and long-lasting effect against
growth and propagation of algae
and micro organisms in the pool
water.
It is designed for disinfection and
hygienic treatment of water in home
pools (indoor and outdoor) with or
without filtration.
Chlorine-free treatment
of pool water
Dosage: Apply 250ml/10 m3 to water directly or through a
filter device. Apply the product when the circulation is on and
subsequently let it mix well in the entire volume of the pool.
Dosage frequency: 1 x 12 days, under extreme load or
high temperatures in every 7-10 days.
GUAa-OXI
Chlorine-free oxidation product
GUAa-OXI is a quick-soluble white
powder used as a highly effective
agent for chlorine-free oxidation of
pool water. It increases the amount
of oxygen in the water and clears
out the organic matter. The water is
clear and sparkly after application.
GUAa-OXI is acidic in water and
therefore it reduces the pH value.
Dosage: 200-250 g10 m3 of
water (flush container cap contains
around 100 g of the product). Ideal way of application is
dissolution of the calculated dose in water (approximately 5l
bucket) at temperature > 20°C and subsequent pouring onto
the water surface. Alternatively you can apply the solution
directly to the skimmer or balance tank.
Dosage frequency: Once in 12 days, under extreme load or
if trouble with turbidity of water occurs, apply as needed.

Polymer product for dirt coagulation
is designed for flocculation of dirt
and for clearing the cloudy pool
water. It flocculates even very fine
diffused impurities into larger units
and these can be subsequently filtered or drained with a pool vacuum
cleaner.

b) Filling up the pool after the previous season
Chlorine-free pool chemistry GUAa is designed for everyone
who is looking for an alternative for chlorine. GUAafully and
in the long term protect the pool water from growth of algae
and propagation of micro-organisms.
Water treated with these products:
 does not smell like chlorine
 does not irritate nor dry the skin
 does not irritate eyes nor mucous membranes
 is suitable for people suffering from allergies, asthma or
eczema
 does not harm the construction and technology of the pool
 Application only once in 10-14 days!
 Is pH neutral
Regular care and effective water cleaning are necessary to
maintain high quality of pool water. Chemical and physical
methods are also important if you want ensure high quality of
the pool water and can be combined.
Mere filtration is not sufficient because it does not prevent
propagation of micro organisms. GUAa-POOL products destroy viruses, fungi, bacteria and actively prevent the growth
of algae. In contrast to chlorine products GUAa-POOL also
has algaecide effects, which means that you do not have to
add other chemicals to inhibit the growth of algae (algaecides)
- significant financial savings.

Before you start using the pool
Clean mechanically all accessible pool surfaces.
Fill up the pool with clean water, adjust the pH of water to 7.2 and switch
on the filter circuit.
Apply GUAa-FLOCK: 100-150 ml/10 m3 of water according to the level of contamination.
Remove impurities on the bottom of the pool
using pool vacuum cleaner. With the circulation
on, regularly check the filter for contamination and
rinse it.
After you filter the mechanical impurities, apply
GUAa-POOL Shock: 200 ml/10 m3 of water.
a) Chemical neutralization - apply GUAa-OXI
according to dosage specified on the label. After
proper mixing in the pool water chlorine will be
removed in approximately 30 minutes.
b) Partial replacement of pool water by about 30
to 50 %.
c) Termination of chlorine application approximately 2 or 3 days before the scheduled transition to
chlorine-free GUAa disinfection (when the circulation is on).

Pool winterizing
It is very important to winterize the pool before the first frost
sets in.
Discharge about 30% of water from the pool.
Water treatment during the season
Regular measurement and pH adjustment - carry
out the measurement at least once a week and
maintain pH levels at 7.2-7.6.
Before you start using the pool, clean the mechanical pool space (i.e. pool container including grooves) from deposits, scale and organic matter.
Flocking - if you use the flocculant GUAa-FLOCK
according to the instructions you will flock (binding) smaller mechanical impurities into larger
units which are subsequently filtered out or removed using a pool vacuum cleaner.
You have to rinse the filter after flocking.
Fill the pool and turn on the filter circuit.
Adjust the pH level to 7.2-7.6.

You can bathe after the pool water has been properly mixed.

You can start bathing after you properly mix the pool water
and filter all mechanical impurities.

Switching from chlorine to GUAa
Oxidation of water - apply the oxidation product
GUAa-OXI on the active oxygen basis after filtering out flocculated impurities from the pool.
This will increase the level of oxygen in the water
and remove organic matter.
Disinfect the water with GUAa-POOL after you
carry out the above mentioned applications. Apply
maintenance dose as specified in the instructions.
Insert plastic floats or PET bottles partially filled
with water (about half of the volume) along the
walls of the pool. This will prevent damage to the
pool by ice.
Apply GUAa-POOL Shock, an ideal universal
product that prevents active growth of algae,
bacteria and fungi in the pool if the frost has not
set in yet. Maintains its properties even after the
pool water melts. Recommended dose is 400
ml/10 m3.
If the technical part of the pool (filter, pump, sink) is not in a
position protected from the frost, discharge the water from
the whole system very thoroughly.
When winterizing the pool you should cover the whole pool
with at least one tarp.
Explanation of terms
Correct pH value
Maintaining the right pH value is one of the most important activities
of water treatment. Ideal pH value when using chlorine-free disinfection is between 7.2-7.6. If the pool water pH is outside this range, the
effectiveness of disinfectants drops and the consumption of disinfectants, excretion of salts, cloudiness, chance of corrosion of metal
parts and chance of fading colours of plastics and foils increase.
Water with low pH (pH < 7.2) is acidic and it can damage all materials
in the pool and irritate the skin of bathers.
Water with high pH (pH > 7.6) is alkaline and allows for formation of
deposits. Water with such pH is often cloudy and is a suitable environment for the growth of algae.
Water disinfection and algae elimination
Application of disinfectants and algaecides in the water is certainly
a necessity. At higher temperatures the water “decays” very quickly
within hours bacteria, viruses, mold and algae start to form in warm
untreated water. Untreated water is very dangerous with respect
to emergence and transmission of diseases. Therefore even small
garden pools for children in which you replace water every day need
to be treated with disinfectant with algaecide effect (algae prevention
and elimination). GUAa-POOL a GUAa-POOL Juniorare products
combining a disinfectant and an algaecide that are, unlike chlorine
products, stable in the water - their concentration changes very
slowly.
Water treated with these products is safe even at weaker circulation
and the user can be sure that there is no health risk for them.
Oxidation of water
Oxidation of water is a process that helps to remove organic matter
contained in the water. Every bather brings impurities in the pool
(sweat, creams, urine).Oxidation can remove these impurities or
reduce their amount in the water. After oxidation the water becomes
clean and clear. You should apply the oxidation product by means of
shock treatment, when the water becomes slightly cloudy or when
it loses spark. Oxidation of water is an important part of pool water
treatment and it deals with most kinds of turbidity.
Flocculation
All fine impurities that cannot be filtered return to the water through
the filter and remain in the water. Due to these impurities water can
seem cloudy, without a spark. Polymer flocculant GUAa-FLOCK
will ensure binding of those particles in larger units - flakes which will
subsequently stay on filters or drop to the bottom of the pool from
where you can remove them by a pool vacuum cleaner. The water
will become visibly clear and sparkly in about 12 hours after application. Do not forget to rinse filters regularly, especially after the use of
flocculant.
Please note that over-dosage can make the water cloudy! In this
case you have to dilute the pool water with fresh water.
Filtration
Each larger pool used in the long term should be equipped with a
filtration system which filters the pool water and efficiently returns it.
The performance of the filter should allow for exchange of the entire
pool volume within 24 hours. Circulation supports effective mixing of
the product into the entire volume of the pool water and it also captures impurities. The recommended filtration time is 6-8 hours a day
depending on the pool volume and filtration speed.
You have to rinse the filter at least once a week, especially after the
use of flocculant. If you wash filters regularly, you support the required
exchange of water. In pools of volume higher than 15 m3 we recommend using sand filters which are much more effective than cheap
cartridge filters.
