Kuwait Az-Zour North IWPP Phase 2
Expression of Interest
The State of Kuwait, through the Partnership Technical Bureau ("PTB") and in
collaboration with the Ministry of Electricity and Water, is in the process of executing the
second Independent Water and Power Producer (“IWPP”) project (the "Project") located at
Az-Zour North as part of the State development plan and to meet the increasing demand
for electricity and water.
It is expected that the plant will have a guaranteed capacity of at least 1500 MW and 100
MIGD of desalinated water.
The project will be tendered in accordance with the laws of Kuwait in particular law 39/2010
and its amendments, ensuring the principles of openness and transparency.
The Project will benefit from an off-take agreement between the Project Company
incorporated according to law 39/2010 and its amendments and the Ministry of Electricity
and Water for a term up to forty years on a Build-Own-Transfer basis.
Interested parties are requested to send an email and a formal letter to PTB expressing their
interest in the Project no later than 12:00 pm Kuwait Time on Thursday the 27th of June
