Job Title JOB DESCRIPTION CONTENT Property Editor – Herts Location St Albans – with requirement to work in other offices from time to time. Reference Number Herts Property Editor Reporting Relationships Direct report to the Editor of the Herts Ad. Job Purpose To take ownership of, and lead the development of the property content offerings in Herts for publication in print and on digital platforms. Job Dimensions To take responsibility for the development of the property content propositions in H&C, primarily in Herts. This is a senior editorial role that will also feed into any central shared content units in Archant. Organisational Chart Reports directly to the Editor. Main Responsibilities (MR) • • • • • • To be responsible for the successful delivery of high-quality and relevant property content propositions for Herts titles. To ensure the team can source and produce accurate, well-written and shareable content centred on the property and homes market. To deliver that content via many different channels and written in different styles depending on that channel – eg in print, online, via social media, video and other platforms. To grow an online audience month-bymonth and demonstrate consistent growth via an audience growth plan (as agreed with Editorial Director) To have a full understanding of commercial content and understand how this sits within products. To work closely with commercial colleagues to maximise opportunities for monetisation. • • • • • • • • • • • • To liaise with editorial colleagues in Archant to identify opportunities to share content. To communicate effectively with colleagues and articulate the ongoing development of the content offerings across the portfolio. To be creative and innovative in the delivery of this specialist content. To meet copy deadlines for print and online. To package content appropriately and effectively, using many forms of media – eg photographs, video, polls and other added value content. To have a full understanding of digital content, particularly online and social media. To ensure the content is balanced, impartial and follows editorial values; it must also sit within IPSO and all other legal regulations. To follow best practice and standard workflows. To follow editorial policies; including the company social media policy and London digital policy. To develop a strong contacts base in the property and homes community; to develop and nurture relationships. To be an effective leader and manager of a team and including one-to-one meetings, team meetings and coaching.
