The Prince valve model RD1500 series is a pressure
compensated proportional flow divider and combiner
valve. These valves will take one inlet flow and split it
into two nearly equal outlet flows.
Because the valve is pressure compensated, the valve
will divide or combine nearly equally with quite different
outlet loads as long as the inlet flow is within range of
the orifice fitted.
These valve can be used to run two reversible motors
at approximately the same speed or extend and retract
two double acting cylinders at approximately the same
speed.
These valves should not be used to synchronise the
stroke of two cylinders because they will not midstroke lock cylinders and the accuracy of the valve
is not adequate in most applications.
The version Model RD1500AB has a built-in automatic
by-pass. This allows oil to cross from one outlet to
the other when the pressure differential between the
two outlets reaches 52 bar (750 psi). This valve is not
recommended for use in cylinder circuits.
