Spring Week 2016 Committee Member Application
APPLICATION PROCESS
Thank you for your interest in the 2016 Spring Week Committee.
Completed applications are due by Noon on Monday, October 13th. At the time the application is submitted you will need to sign up for an interview.
Those interested in the Coordinator position will need to interview no later than October 2nd, and those interested in a Chair position will need to
interview no later than October 19th.
Please Note:
If selected as a chair for the Spring Week Committee you will need to plan on attending a meeting TBD starting early November
If selected as a committee member for the Spring Week Committee you will need to plan on attending the first committee meeting TBD in early
November. All steering committee meetings will be held at 5 pm on a TBD day during the spring semester.
Committee Information
Thursday Night Entertainment:
(will work in conjunction with the Union Board Special Events committee)
-Coordinate entertainment for the entire campus population (event needs to draw a mass appeal)
-Implement all aspects of the plan including contracts
Community Service:
(will work in conjunction with the (CCE) Center for Community Engagement)
-Coordinate volunteers for Spring Donaghy Day
-Coordinate volunteers for Stop and Serve
-Work with Indiana Blood to coordinate and schedule Blood Drive(s)
Public Relations:
-Work in collaboration with the Student Marketing Company to create Spring Week logo, advertisements and T-shirts
-Coordinate button assembly
-Coordinate selection and ordering of Spring Week apparel
-Prepare and coordinate distribution of news releases
-Take pictures and videos at events
-Design and prepare displays
Secretary/ Treasurer:
-Take and distribute meeting minutes
-Maintain and distribute official calendar of events, contact list of committee members and organization representatives
-Devise and institute a plan of communication within the Spring Week Committee and organization representatives
-Devise a budget in conjunction with the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator
-Devise a system to take in monies and process requests, payments, purchase orders, etc.
-Assist in the processing of entertainment contracts
Sycamore Remix:
-Responsible for coordinating all aspects of Sycamore Remix competition including working closely with Hulman Center staff
-Coordinate panel of judges
-Devise a scoring system
-Create and enforce rules
-Coordinate preview and rehearsal nights

Battleship:
(will work in conjunction with Rec Sports)
Brief description: There will be multiple teams in this event. Each team will consist of four (4) individuals. At a given time, a max of four (4) teams will
be in the water at the same time. Each team will try to sink the other teams by using buckets and water guns. The last team still in their canoe wins
and moves on in the competition. *This will be the second year of existence for this event.
--Create/modify rules
-Coordinate volunteers for the event
-Coordinate bracket style competition
General Events:
-Create and Coordinate event(s) to “kick off” Spring Week
-Create guidelines for poster competition
-Coordinate panel of judges for poster competition
-Work with all other events not listed above
