Brief Description about the role
Position: Head Of Technical
Reporting to: Managing Director
Main duties and responsibilities
The areas of responsibilities contained within this job description is not exhaustive and an employee may be asked
to do other duties in line with the needs of the business.
Primary Responsibilities
1. To add value to the business by providing technical focus, strategy, leadership, communication and a drive
for continuous improvement.
2. To ensure that EOM’s technical capability is sufficient to deal with future challenges.
3. To champion and drive a quality, hygiene and food safety programme that meets the needs of EOM and its
customers through continuous improvement.
4. To help raise the perception of EOM to “best in class” producer.
5. To lead the business in the resolution of all technical issues.
6. To liaise at a senior level with all major customers to co-ordinate the resolution of technical issues.
7. To represent EOM on relevant trade bodies.
8. To advise the business on developments in legislation, technologies, etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
A degree in food science or related subject.
Experienced Technical Director with knowledge and understanding of what good looks like in the food industry.
Person Specification
An energetic and strong character, a leader, a people manager, a good communicator, both internally and
externally, with a drive to achieve improvements in difficult circumstances.
Ability to work both as an individual and team member.
Desirable Attributes
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literate - Microsoft Office packages.
To treat others with dignity and respect.
Endeavour to deliver the best quality service to internal and external customers alike.
