KEMIRA’S EHSQ POLICY is defined as follows:
1. Purpose
Effective Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality systems are among the
highest priorities in all of Kemira's operations and a fundamental prerequisite
for conducting our business.
As defined in Kemira’s Code of Conduct, Kemira strives to protect the
environment, health and safety and to promote quality in all of its businesses.
2. Scope
This Policy determines the level of commitment and minimum requirements
for Environment, Health, Safety and Quality as well as energy efficiency within
Kemira.
This Policy applies to all Kemira locations and operations, all Kemira
employees and those working on behalf of and/or in alliance with Kemira.
3. Commitment
Kemira is committed to the:







Development and delivery of safe, high-quality products and services
meeting the needs of our customers;
Systematic assessment of the EHSQ hazards and risks of all of our
operations;
Prevention of incidents and minimization of negative impacts of our
activities on the environment, people and property;
Continuous improvement of its EHSQ performance;
Promotion of sustainable development through efficient utilization of
energy and natural resources;
Use of proven best available technology when designing, building or
revamping production plants; and
Providing open and frank communication externally and internally at all
levels of the organization.

Management commitment
Kemira’s management is committed to and responsible for the Environment,
Health, Safety and Quality performance and maintaining a culture of
sustainability within Kemira. Through continuous development of skills and
awareness, Kemira’s management ensures that employees understand their
responsibilities and know how to follow the respective procedures and
instructions.
Employee commitment
Kemira’s employees are expected to show a high degree of professionalism,
follow the respective procedures and instructions and have a personal sense
of responsibility with respect to Environment, Health, Safety and Quality.
Contractors' and suppliers' commitment
Contractors, suppliers, transport companies and other third parties who
perform work on behalf of or with Kemira shall comply with applicable
Environment, Health, Safety and Quality regulations, the Code of Conduct for
Suppliers, Distributors and Agents as well as with this Policy.
4. Compliance
Kemira’s companies and operations comply with applicable EHS and security
legislation, regulation, permitting, internal Kemira EHS standards and other
requirements to which Kemira subscribes.
5. Management systems
Kemira’s companies and operations implement and maintain certified
Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality management systems without
exemptions to the clauses of the applicable management system standards.
In addition, Kemira implements and maintains certified energy efficiency
management system in those of its manufacturing sites which consume the
majority of Kemira’s global energy consumption. Projects and Manufacturing
technology function is authorized to designate such sites.
