Read this before starting use.

WARNING
Manufacturer's Liability
The manufacturer shall not be responsible for the
following matters:
• Major errors caused during use by user.
• Illegal modifications or repairs using nonstandard parts by user.
WARNING
General Matters
This product shall not be used for applications other than dehumidification of compressed air.
WARNING

During transport, this product shall not be laid on its
side, and vibration and impact shall not be applied.

Move the product with a fork lift or by suspension as shown in the drawing.

When suspending the product, use suspension
hooks and rope, etc.
The suspension angle must be 45° and over.
CAUTION
<Ambient temperature>
1 Do not use this product in a place exceeding
the maximum working temperature.

Do not install this product where it will be subject to radiated heat.

If the maximum working temperature may be exceeded,
install ventilation fans or provide an air inlet, etc.

Do not use this product where the temperature
is lower than the minimum working temperature.
<Location>
5 Install this product indoors. When using it
outdoors, designate the option symbol "O".

<Vibration>
16 When using the reciprocating compressor, use a
flexible tube or high pressure rubber hose for piping
with the air dryer so that vibration will be adsorbed.
<Maintenance space>
17 Ensure space to provide good ventilation and
make maintenance and inspections easier.
Front and both sides: 600 mm and over in each
direction
(Open at least 1000 mm on the front, both sides
and back for the GT7710W to 7960W.)
Top: 600 mm and over (When using air cooling,
check that exhausted heat does not enter the
dryer intake port.)

CAUTION
<Air piping>
1 Pipe the air dryer as shown below.
For 24-hour operation:
A parallel installation for emergencies is recommended.
Use 1 unit for normal operation, and the other unit as a spare.
<Drain piping>
6 Connect the drain pipe to the drain. Sludge is
removed from the manual drain, so always
connect a drain pipe to the drain.

From air compressor
To terminal line
Use a drain pipe with a bore size of 7 and
over. Keep the length to within 2m, and release
the discharge end to the atmosphere.

For intermittent operation:
Install a bypass pipe for maintenance.

If drain piping slopes upward or if piping is too
long, drainage may not be discharged. Pipe with
a downward slope so drainage flows naturally.
Silencer
If oil enters drainage, it must be drained and
treated. Contact an industrial waste specialist for
treatment.

Drainage is discharged using air pressure.
Securely fix the drain discharge tube, etc., so it
does not sway during drain discharge.
<Cooling water piping>
11 Check the cooling water inlet and outlet, and
connect pipes.

Stainless steel or galvanized steel pipes (white
pipes) are recommended for pipe materials.
Flush pipes before connecting.

When piping is already laid, when using black
pipes, or when using an oil-free air compressor, and large amounts of dirt, etc., form in
pipes, install a main line P filter before the
dryer.

Provide a water discharge outlet or stop valve
so maintenance can be done.
Design piping so weight of pipes is not applied
to the dryer.
Use piping that withstands working pressure
and temperature. Check that no water leaks
from connections.

Wiring
CAUTION

Use this product within the power voltage range
given in specifications.

Install a ground leakage breaker on the main
power source.

<Air quality>
1 Do not use intake air that contains corrosive
gases, chemicals, organic solvents, or flammable gases.

Correctly and securely connect power, signal, operation, and ground cables. Do not connect the ground
cable to a water pipe, gas pipe, or lightning rod.

Select wires with suitable capacities.

Air cooling has a standard dust filter. Clean the
dust filter with a vacuum cleaner or air-blowing
once a month. Replace the filter if it is heavily
contaminated.

This product has a Class 2 pressurized container
withstand pressure proof certificate. This certificate must be kept in safekeeping while using this
product. (Applications to the Labor Standards
Supervision Office are no longer required. This
applies in Japan.)
If the intake temperature is high, install an after
cooler, etc., and lower air to the maximum
intake temperature. Drainage generated in the
after cooler must be removed before the dryer.
Maintenance

With water cooling, if water deposits, etc.,
adhere to the water cooling condenser, performance may drop and the dryer could stop
abnormally. Wash the water cooling condenser
once every 6 months. Connecting piping for
washing is recommended when connecting
cooling water piping.
Miscellaneous

This product uses non-ozone depleting Freon gas.
However, to protect the environment, collect
Freon gas when disposing of the product. (Treat
Freon gas according to local laws and ordinances.)
Contact CKD or a specialist for collection of Freon
gas.

<Applications>
Use for applications other than dehumidifying compressed air is prohibited.
<Quality of compressed air>
Do not use this product if inlet air contains corrosive gases,
chemicals, organic solvents, or combustible gases.
Do not use this product for caisson shields or medical
apparatuses used for respiration.
<Air temperature>
Do not exceed the maximum inlet air temperature
during use.
Failure to observe this could result in personnel injury.
Do not install this product on transportation devices
such as vehicles or ships.
Vibration, etc., could cause damage to internal components.
If the inlet air temperature is high, install an after cooler,
etc., and lower the temperature to the maximum inlet
air temperature or less. Drainage generated in the after
cooler must be removed before the dryer is reached.
Transportation
This product contains less than 12 kg of refrigerant
(R-407C). Follow all applicable laws when transporting
this product by ground, sea or air.

Installation & Adjustment
WARNING
<Electric wiring>
Use the product within the specified power voltage
range.
<Adjustment and operation>
Do not start or stop frequently, or failures could occur.
<Floor>
Install the product on a vibration-free floor.
Install the product on a flat floor.
Provide foundation work if the ground is soft.
The anchor bolt position and hole dimensions are
given in the outline drawing.
When a remote operation circuit (option M) is provided
to operate the dryer remotely, the following considerations
must be made for the system: Start and stop the dryer
less than ten times an hour. After restarting, wait at
least five minutes before stopping again. Stop for at
least three minutes.
<Vibration>
When using a reciprocating compressor, use a flexible
tube or high-pressure rubber hose in part of piping
with the air dryer to absorb vibration.
Install an overload protection ground-fault circuit
breaker on the main power supply to provide isolated
overload protection and to prevent electrical shock
from current leakage.
<Maintenance space>
Secure the ventilation and maintenance spaces as
followings.
600mm or wider in each 4 directions
600mm or higher in the top
Always connect the ground.
CAUTION
<Ambient temperature>
Do not use the product in a location where the temperature
is higher than the maximum working temperature.
Do not install the product where it is subjected to
radiated heat.
If maximum working pressure is exceeded, install a
ventilation fan or air inlet, etc.
<Air piping>
Pipe the dryer as the following diagram.
When operating 24 hours,
parallel installation is
recommended against
emergencies.
One unit is used for
normal operation, while
another unit is used as
the backup unit.
For intermittent operation:
Install the by-pass piping
for maintenance.
Do not use the product in a location where the temperature
is lower than the minimum working temperature.
<Location>
Install the product indoors.
(GX3111 to 3137, GX5111 to 5137 do not include a Y
type strainer.)
Install the product in a well-ventilated place free of
dirt and dust.
Install the enclosed Y strainer to prevent dirt in piping
from entering the dryer.
(Series: GX3108, GX5103 to 5108)
Install the product in the place that separated from
rain or water splash.
Design piping so that pipe weight is not applied on
the product.
Do not install the product where high levels of humidity
or dew could condense.
Use piping that sufficiently withstands working pressure.
Check that air does not leak from connections.
Avoid using the product in direct sunlight or where
heat is generated.
Galvanized steel pipes (white) are recommended. Use
stainless steel pipes based on specifications and
applications.
Do not use the product in a location that has a corrosive
gas.
Intro 3
<Drain piping method>
Connect the drain pipe to the drain port.
Use a drain pipe with a bore of at least 7. Keep the
length to within 2 m, and release the discharge end
into the atmosphere.
The drain piping port is Rc1/4. If the drain piping slopes
upward or if piping is too long, back pressure will be
applied and drainage may not be discharged. Pipe with
a downward slope so that drainage flows naturally.
Drain treatment is necessary if oil could get into the
drain.
Contact an industrial waste specialist for treatment.
Drainage is regularly discharged using air pressure.
Securely fix drain discharge tubing, etc., so that it
does not move during drain discharge.
Keep the drain discharge manual cock completely
closed during normal operation. Use this manual cock
to remove drainage during maintenance.
During use & Maintenance
WARNING
<Freon collection>
This product is subject to laws related to the collection
and destruction of freon in specific products (freon
collection and destruction laws). Collect freon gas
when repairing or disposing of the product.
Consult with CKD for Freon gas collection.
<Periodical maintenance part>
To ensure long use, regularly inspect maintenance
parts and replace them based on the standard
replacement cycle.
Refer to the Instruction Manual enclosed with the
product for details.
