Must use material designed and tested for the purpose. 4) (Q) Does the Code require insulation on water piping in the ceiling of a garage when there is a conditioned space (i.e., bonus room, bedroom, etc.) directly above? (A) No! Provided the piping is within the building conditioned space envelope.
