PAC TEAM EXPECTATIONS 1. Arrive on time and be ready to get in the pool at the start of practice. This includes, being changed, cap and googles on, equipment ready on deck, and ready to jump in! Do not just loiter in locker rooms. If running late, get in the water as quickly as possible so you don't miss valuable warm up time. 2. Leave on the correct interval. Do not leave early and swim on top of the feet of the swimmer in front of you. 3. Know the amount of laps you have swam. Don't rely on the person in front of you to stop. Keep your brain engaged! 4. Always push off the wall in a "drop in" position 5. When at the wall, keep your head above water in case I give you special instructions. 6. Water and bathroom breaks should be taken before or after the main set. Please do not go during a main set or skill work. 7. Use only positive and encouraging comments with your teammates. We are a family and team here. 8. When you enter the pool for practice, it is swim time. Come prepared with a great attitude and willingness to work hard. Leave everything else at the door. 9. Give your full attention whenever a coach is taking. If you have questions ask! Pay close attention to instructions even if you think you already know what we're doing. 10. Don't be afraid to push yourself. Find new limits. You never know what your capable of until you try! 11. Keep your participation at meets high! This is where we can really gage and measure performance, improvements, strategies, and overall being of the swimmer. Also, being willing to do more events then what's inside your comfort zones. You may come to find your talents may be in a different event then you thought! Mix it up and be brave. This is also a time swimmers bond and have fun competing with each other and motivation one another! 12. Don't miss practice! If you have other events going on, speak to me prior. But don't skip practices because you feel tired or sore. Recovery days are built into the season and timed for a reason, so stick with it! I understand things come up so again keep me in communication. If you have ear infections, there are kick sets and dry land exercises to keep you in shape and in pace with the team. Time in swimming is a valuable thing and once lost cannot be regained. Keep this in mind as you determine when you will be missing. Saturday practices are important to swimmers. Please do your best to keep attendance on Saturdays up!
