1.
Introduction
This design standard specifies standard reactor sizes and reference voltages. The design
standard is for internal use.
The general requirements apply in general to all new reactors in 132-/150 kV, 220 kV and
400 kV AC substations.
The requirements stated in the technical specification for specific equipment take
precedence over the requirements stated in these common conditions and requirements.
2.
Standards and regulations
The construction, production and testing of units and equipment must comply with ETSseries standards for reactors.
3.
Terminology and definitions
In this design standard the following definitions are used:
3.1
Reference voltage
The voltage used within Energinet.dk for calculating the size of the requested reactive
power output. This reference voltage is not comparable with voltages specified in IEC or
other standards.
3.2
Variable shunt reactor (VSR)
Reactor with variable reactive power range.
4.
Specific design requirements
The reactor size for each nominal system voltage must be calculated at the following
reference voltages if nothing else is specified:

By default the following reactor sizes must be used, but other sizes can be chosen if
relevant:

Operation pattern
If nothing else is specified the following operation pattern must be used for VSR's.
8500 operation hours per year divided into the following intervals:
40 %
1.000 hours = 11,8 %
60 %
2.000 hours = 23,5 %
80 %
4.000 hours = 47,1 %
100 %
1.500 hours = 17,6 %
6.
Documentation
Size, type and reference voltage of reactors shall be documented in the specification of
requirements for a given project.
Example:
40-100 Mvar variable shunt reactor (VSR), reactor size calculated at 165 kV
