The Sixth Grade Times
DECEMBER, 2015
Dear Parents: December is a short, busy month for us. We will be working on our
science fair projects and have our class geography bees. The 2nd quarter will end
Dec. 18th. Report cards will go home in January.
Science Fair Update: students should have their topic chosen and should be working on the steps
leading up to the actual experiment. Students should have a guideline telling them when each part is
due. The actual science fair will be held in February. Most students should complete their experiment
over the winter break.
Geography Bee: This month each class will have a geography bee. The winner of that will participate
in the school geography bee in January.
NWEA Winter Testing: The next two weeks we will be doing our winter NWEA testing in reading,
math, and language arts.

CORE VIRTUE for December
Our core virtue for December is CHARITY. This trait is about giving with open
hands and heart. We will discuss this throughout the month. This would be a good
opportunity for discussion at home also.
Remember, you can access your child’s grades online. Students should be using their
homework planners on a regular basis. Please check over your child’s graded papers
in the Friday folders and look for any important forms from the office. Thank you for
your support.
