For this reason, we at Gottardo take great care in choosing our raw materials.Through our manufacturing process we pride ourselves in providing our clients with top quality equipment that requires minimum maintenance and return many years of service. 1 STRUCTURAL POLES Upright poles provide the vertical structural support for decks and other play elements. They are available in 2 versions: Wood – Top quality fine and compact grained northern pine is used for the wooden structural poles. Lumber is sourced from certified forests, is vacuum pressure impregnated in an autoclave with non-toxic mineral salts to prevent rot, and deterioration. A UV protection layer is also applied. Lumber is machined to resist distortion induced by changes in humidity and temperature. All wooden surfaces are sanded smooth and all edges are chamfered to give a smooth round finish with no sharp edges. The poles have a cloverleaf profile 90x90mm. Top of wooden poles, is fitted with coloured cap manufactured from injection moulded polyethylene with UV protection properties. 1 1 1 1 Aluminium – Structural profiles used are cold-extruded alloy 6005, 2.5mm thick, are extremely strong and offer excellent corrosion resistance. After extrusion the poles are varnished with a non-toxic lead free powder paint. All aluminium profiles have in built special groves in which the connecting bolts are inserted for extra durability and vandal resistance. Profiles are available in three designs: square with curved edges 90x90mm, round poles Ø 127mm and octagonal ones 70x70mm. The top of the aluminium poles are fitted with a specially moulded polyurethane caps. 2 2 DECKS Decks provide the base onto which the various play elements are attached. They are available in various shapes and sizes with two different surfaces: Wooden slats 35mm thick treated with non-toxic mineral salts to prevent rot, and deterioration with a top layer of UV protection varnish. Wooden surfaces are sanded smooth, edges are chamfered to give a smooth round finish with no sharp edges 2 2 Anodized aluminium laths used have an interlocking profile, with a fluted non-slip surface 35x110mm, 3mm thick. All decks have a sheet metal frame; cross section is 85x90mm, 1,5mm thick. The metal is folded to shape, treated against corrosion and varnished with non-toxic lead free powder paint. All welded joints and machined areas are dressed free of burrs and sharp edges. Patterned aluminium tread plate with a nonslip rise grain pattern 3+2mm have a metal 60x30mm tubulars powder coated frame. Sprayed aluminium sheets varnished with non-toxic lead free powder paint. 3 STAIRS Stairs offer users easy access to the upper decks and are available in two versions. All steps have a sheet metal frame. The metal is folded to shape, treated against corrosion and varnished with non-toxic lead free powder paint. All welded joints and machined areas are dressed free of burrs and sharp edges. Steps are covered either from wooden slats or aluminium profiles. Steps are 220mm deep, providing users with a wide base support that is essential for young users. Railings offer fall protection alongside the entire length of the stairs and are attached to the upright poles using specifically moulded polyethylene plugs and securely fixed to the ground. 3 «Open» – metal lateral railings, constructed using tubular oval sectioned metal 40 x 20mm. The metal is folded to shape, treated against corrosion and varnished with a non-toxic powder paint. All welded joints and machined areas are dressed free of burrs and sharp edges. «Closed» – lateral railings constructed using solid HDPE multi layered panels, with an anti-slip orange peel texture finish and UV protected. They develop their motor, and social skills together with physical strength. The elements are manufactured from the following materials: Metal Arched Climbers - manufactured entirely from tubular metal frame sections Ø40mm, 1,5mm thick, that are folded, curved or shaped according to necessity. Vertical HDPE Climbers – have a metal tubular frame, folded, curved or shaped according to necessity. Solid HDPE multi layered panels, with an anti-slip orange peel texture finish, and UV protection form the climbing element. Panels are 19mm thick and have various cut-out holes that are used as hand holds and foot rests. 4 4 HDPE Ramps and Climber constructed from High-density polyethylene (HDPE) 19mm thick panels, with an anti-slip orange peel texture finish with UV protection. HDPE panels are engraved with various designs and have shaped rock holds attached. HDPE elements have either 3mm polycarbonate inserts for extra reinforcement or metal supports made from tubular metal that is treated against corrosion and powder-coated. 4 4 Rope Arched Climbers – have metal tubular frame Ø40mm, 1,5mm thick, folded, curved or shaped according to necessity. Ropes used, are constructed using Ø16mm, 6 strand polyamide steel core. Ropes are extremely tough, and at the same time gentle on young hands, have UV protection, and are ideally suited for playground use. Ropes are fastened together using special tamper resistant Polyamide connectors. 4 Ladders - manufactured entirely from tubular metal frame sections 60x30mm and Ø40mm, 1,5mm thick that are folded, curved or shaped according to necessity. 4 Firemen Sliding Poles - manufactured entirely from tubular metal frame sections Ø40mm, 1,5mm thick that are folded, curved or shaped according to necessity. All metal welded joints and machined parts are dressed free of burrs and sharp edges prior to being degreased and shot blasted then treated against corrosion and finally coated with non toxic lead free powder paint. All hand holds are scaled to give young hands a firm and positive grip. Ground connecting plates and footrests are manufactured from sheet metal 3mm thick. SLIDES Slides offer kids the sensation of speed and help develop their motor, social and skills. They are available in various shapes, sizes and materials. 5 5 Tube Slides - Entirely manufactured from single wall PE 6mm thick. Slide sections are connected together utilising specially designed connecting rings manufactured from polyethylene that provide a smooth internal finish and a secure, vandal resistant connection. Tubular metal supports are used according to necessity. 5 Single Piece Slides - Entirely manufactured from double wall PE 6mm thick. Metal connecting frames are used in some elements according to necessity. 5 5 Modular Slides - Entirely manufactured from double wall PE 6mm thick. Slide elements are designed to interlock to each other providing smooth finish and a secure connection. Tubular metal supports are used according to necessity Stainless Steel Slide - Slide bedway is constructed from single sheet BA 20/10 bright annealed stainless 2mm thick. Bedway is permanently attached to the side rails that are manufactured using twin layered UV protected, 19mm HDPE panels, and is reinforced from the underside by HDPE battens, for extra strength and safety. 5 All Polyethylene (PE) elements are manufactured using high quality, low density coloured raw materials with inbuilt UV protection, using a rotational moulding system that gives extra strength and durability. Arched and Inclined Bridges – Walkway constructed from a sheet metal frame, cross section is 40x20mm, 1,5mm thick, and covered either from wooden slats or aluminium profiles. Bridge side walls are constructed from HDPE panels, 15mm thick, engraved in various designs and are attached to a tubular metal frame. 6 Inclined Rope Bridge – frame work constructed from a sheet metal frame, cross section is 70x60mm, 2mm thick. Walkway is covered either from wooden slats or aluminium profiles. Handrails are constructed from tubular metal sections 60x30mm. Bridge side rails are constructed from Ø16mm, 6 strand polyamide steel core rope. 6 Mobile Bridge – frame work constructed from tubular metal sections Ø40mm, 1,5mm thick, shaped according to necessity. Bridge walk walkway is constructed from weather resistant marine plywood 21mm thick with anti-slip properties, cut in a triangular shape to form ‘mobile islands’ that are connected to the supporting frame via suspended ropes. For further safety a solid bridge base is installed under the ‘mobile islands’ manufactured from weather resistant marine plywood 21mm thick that has anti-slip properties together with a metal supporting frame. Metal parts are curved or folded to shape according to necessity. Anodized aluminium laths used in walkways have an interlocking profile, fluted non-slip top profile 35x100m, 3mm thick. Ropes are a diameter of 16mm, with 6 strand polyamide steel core. Ropes are extremely tough, and at the same time gentle on young hands, have UV protection, and are ideally suited for playground use. Ropes are fastened together using special tamper resistant Polyamide connectors. Railings are constructed from HDPE 15mm thick panels, with an anti-slip orange peel texture finish with UV protection. Panels are engraved in various designs and are attached to a tubular metal frame. 6 6 7 CLIMBING ACTIVITY / GYM EQUIPMENT Climbing and activity elements help users develop motor skills and body strength. Frame work constructed from wood or aluminium structural poles as described in item 1. Climbing nets, and rope ladders are constructed using Ø16mm, 6 strand polyamide steel core rope. Basic – constructed from a tubular metal frame 70x70mm with rotating PE tubes. 8 8 PE - double wall 6mm thick high quality, low density coloured raw materials with inbuilt UV protection, using a rotational moulding system that gives extra strength and durability. Rotating tubes are inserted to form various games. HDPE - 19mm thick multi layered panels, with an anti-slip orange peel texture finish with UV protection. Panels are either engraved or cut in various designs to which moving parts attached in order to create a variety of interactive games. Entrance/Exit constructed from 19mm thick HDPE panels, tunnel body constructed from 10mm thick HDPE panels that are thermoformed into a cylindrical form. HDPE panels are engraved in various designs. 10 PE Tunnels - Entirely manufactured from single wall high quality, low density coloured polyethylene (PE) with inbuilt UV protection, using a rotational moulding system that gives extra strength and durability. Tunnel sections are connected together utilising specially designed connecting rings manufactured from polyethylene that provide a smooth internal finish and a secure, vandal resistant connection. 10 Rope Tunnel - Entrance/Exit constructed from 19mm thick HDPE panels, passageway constructed from 14mm thick HPL anti-slip slats or aluminium profiles. They help in physical, social, motor and cognitive development. Frame constructed either from 90x90mm wooden or aluminium supporting poles as described above. Horizontal crossbeam manufactured from Ø90mm metal tube, treated against corrosion and powder-coated and fitted with self-lubricating bearings. Swing seats available either as flat or cradle and are manufactured from impact absorption rubber with aluminium inserts for extra durability. Closed link chains are connected to the cross beam via D shackles. Side decorations are manufactured from engraved HDPE 19mm panels. 12 ROOFS Roofs not only provide protection from the elements but also give a 3 dimensional feel. Roofs are available in 4 versions. Gable roofs - have a rotationally moulded low density coloured PE V shaped support bases that are inserted into the structural poles. 15mm HDPE panels are attached to the bases to form the roof. Panels have an anti-slip orange peel texture finish, UV protection and are engraved in various designs. 11 12 12 Pyramid roofs - manufactured from single wall 6mm thick high quality, linear low density coloured polyethylene with inbuilt UV protection, using a roto moulding system that gives extra strength and durability. 12 12 Hexagonal roofs - constructed from a metal supporting frame onto which aluminium sheets 3mm thick are attached. They help develop social, motor, and physical skills. D shaped hand-over-hand element is constructed using tubular metal beam Ø60mm and the semi-circular D handholds are manufactured from tubular metal Ø40mm. 13 Monkey Bars hand-over-hand element constructed from Ø30 or 40mm supporting frame, handholds are manufactured from tubular metal Ø40mm. Corkscrew overhead element is constructed using tubular metal beam Ø60mm and a Ø20mm metal pipe that is curved around the metal beam to form a corkscrew design. 13 Monkey Swing is constructed from 60x30mm tubular beam to which PE handles are attached via Ø16mm, 6 strand polyamide steel core rope. All hand holds are scaled to give young hands a firm and positive grip. 14 13 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND HARDWARE All equipment is full supplied with written instructions, and drawings. To facilitate assembly, structural poles have pre drilled holes and where possible, connecting bolts are inserted in place. Decks and play elements are marked with easily-read identification numbers keyed to the installation drawings. Equipment is connected together by means of vandal resistant stainless steel high quality bolts and nuts. All bolts and nut ends are covered by means of PE dowels that protect from sharp edges and mischievous dismantling.
