University of New Haven Assistant Professor-Electrical Engineering Tagliatela College of Engineering Search#14-122 The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science (ECECS) in the Tagliatela College of Engineering at the University of New Haven invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in the area of Digital Communications and Signal Processing. The expected starting date is September 1, 2015. The successful candidate will lead the college in developing expertise, programs and recognition in the focus area of communication systems. Required qualifications: • • • • • • Ph.D. in electrical engineering with research interests in wireless communications, smart antennas, and related areas. : Documentation of a plan for the development of a research program in an area of wireless communication or closely related field. Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with interest in broader areas of engineering education such as technical communication, entrepreneurship and experiential learning are desirable. Evidence of scholarly research and publications in their field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to collegiality and teamwork. Authorization to work in the U.S. Responsibilities: • • • • • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in communication systems, digital communications, wireless communications, and preferably also microwave engineering. Contribute to development of digital communications and signal processing program as one of 3 focal areas for the department. Build and sustain cross-disciplinary funded research programs. Mentor undergraduate and graduate students as advisor for their projects and theses. Participate in industry/client sponsored projects for students, and service to the department, college, and the university.
