Title/Position: Palletizer Location: Skowhegan Plant Department: Plant Classification: Full Time Travel Required: NA Days/Hours of Work: Off Season‐ up to 40 hours per week Monday – Friday Compensation Level: Hourly Spring –Summer 50 hours per week Mon‐Friday some weekends Reports to: This position works closely with: Effective Date: 1/4/2016 Pay Scale: Optional‐ Use When needed Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma Required Experience Driving a forklift required Experience using a pallet jack required Must have reliable transportation PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift 50 lbs Must be able to lift 35lbs above head Must be able to handle cold temperatures Must be able to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs Must be able to use hands to finger and handle or feel objects with hands Employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch or crawl Must be able to reach with hands and arms Must be able to accurately work at a fast pace Must be able to push and pull a full pallet of ice cream using a pallet jack Must be able to withstand extreme temperature changes Must be able to write and record items on paper Must be able to wear a hairnet and beardnet while in the production room Must be able to work around moving machinery and equipment while staying safe BEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTS Must be self‐motivated must adhere to good manufacturing practices 1 Must be able to multitask Must have basic mathematical skills Must have organizational skills Will need to be quality focused and can pay attention to detail Must be dependable Must be able to manage own time Must be willing to do other jobs and tasks Must be able to work in a team environment Must have and keep a Positive Attitude Must be able to know when the environment is not safe Must be able to work in a fast paced environment WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a freezer—will be required to withstand time inside of a freezer up to ‐20 Fahrenheit Fluorescent lighting used in doors Work load is fast paced The position uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand jacks, box cutters, tape dispensers, and markers. Floors in the production room will be wet for food safety Production room does not reach threshold of unsafe noise level, but is loud OBJECTIVE: keep accurate counts of product palletize product neatly minimize product damages recognize problems maintain a neat, clean work area TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Palletize finished product Prepare candy for production Sweep and clean palletizing area Remove refuse tank and trash from production Sweep dry storage area Help sanitation crew as needed 2
