Fast and Flexible – The Solution for Commercial and Industrial Installations A combiner box makes a major contribution to ensuring a photovoltaic system is efficient and fault-free. Weidmuller offers combiner boxes that are pre-wired with surge protection devices to safeguard components downstream. Weidmuller also offers combiner boxes with external disconnect switches, and optimization of the combiner box for load isolation and string monitoring. Safety and system availability In a photovoltaic system, the individual input wires or circuits are consolidated in series into “strings”. The strings connect via combiner boxes, which are fitted between several arrays or solar panels and the inverter. The combined input circuits mean fewer output circuits, which are also fed into combiner boxes, and eventually result in one main DC buss or feed.
