A Resolution to revise Article 1, Section 1 Sub Section 6 to more strictly word

the responsibility of the president to take action upon Senate Acts and

Resolutions.

Whereas, The president currently has the power to table any act or
6
resolution

Whereas, The president is not required to follow through or act on SGA
9
legislation

Whereas, Such action by the president would not be in alliance with the
12
vision of serving as the “voice of the students”

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 65TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
15
THE AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT

ASSOCIATION THAT:

Section 1: Upon passage of this Resolution, the Student Government Association
19
Bylaws under Article 1, Section 1 Sub Section 6 will read: “Must sign or veto
20
Senate Acts and Senate Resolutions and return them at the next meeting. Any
21
presidential veto must be over ruled by a two thirds (2/3) vote of the
22
Senate.”
