1C News Sept. 1—Curriculum Night @ 6:40-8:10 Sept.7—No School (Labor Day) Dear Parents: It’s hard to believe that we have been in school for nearly a week. The students are starting to settle into a routine and are getting used to having me as their teacher, their new schedule, their new classmates, and just getting back into the daily attendance of school. If you have not sent in the $4.00 for journals yet please do so. The journals are lined and make it much easier for the kids to practice their letters and their writing. I know some of you paid on the first day and some of the kids just gave cash so if you could please label it with your child’s name that would be helpful. Also, orders for headphones for the computer lab are due on Friday, August 28th. If you have lost the form just send a note with the $5.00 and I will turn it in for you. Students need to have headphones (ones from home or that you purchase are fine too) in order to have the volume on the computers during our computer lab time. If a child does not have headphones the sound will have to be muted so as not to disturb other’s learning. Homework this year will be packets sent home containing Spelling words (tests will be on Friday), Reading logs and math worksheets. The packets will be due the following Monday. Please sign the reading log and total the number of minutes read. The math homework should be a review so if your child is struggling with it please send me a note so I can review it with him or her. We will go over examples of the homework and a lot of other important information on Tuesday at Curriculum Night so please try to attend. Again if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to send a note or call me at school (630-393-1787), or send an email @ charles.corbett@cusd200.org Thanks again and enjoy the week! Mr. Corbett
