Sweden has announced that it will incorporate the UN Convention on the Rights of
the Child into Swedish law. Sweden is also a State Party to the International
Covenants on Civil and Political Rights and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights;
however, these are not yet incorporated into Swedish law. Are there any plans for
such incorporation?

In 2010, Norway asked what additional measures were envisaged in order to further
strengthen the civil rights of the Sami people in Sweden. In that regard, Norway
recommended Sweden to work on clarification of the legal consequences of possible
ratification of the ILO Convention 169 with a view to ratifying the convention. Could
you please elaborate what has been done in this regard, and if you have come to any
conclusions?
