ADVANCE QUESTIONS TO LIECHTENSTEIN—ADD 1
UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAN AND NORTHERN IRELAND

In light of Liechtenstein’s decision to create an independent body for the protection
and promotion of human rights, we would welcome information on what steps will be
taken to ensure it will be compliant with the Paris Principles and specifically that it
will be independent from Government and will receive sufficient funding to carry out
its mandate. We would also be interested to hear whether the new institution will
have a mandate to monitor general human rights in Liechtenstein whilst collaborating
with government and other domestic human rights mechanisms.

We would be grateful for information on steps taken by Liechtenstein to implement
the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the
European Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and
Domestic Violence.
