 Explain where we see MILLIONS in the real world: USE YOUR NOTES. DO NOT make up your own.

 Explain when we use, or see, negative integers in the real world: thermometer, debt, etc.

You need to be able to…

 Write a variety of numbers in ALL of the forms: standard, expanded, short word, word, and expanded notation.

 Identify the place value, value, and period of any digit.

 Know the powers of ten relationships: How many 100’s are in 100,000?

 Rename numbers using addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

 Round to any place value. You will also need to know how to do Rolling Nines.

 Put numbers in order from least to greatest and greatest to least.

 Compare numbers using the appropriate signs AND know what those signs mean…

 Create numbers from a given set of digits. (the 4 largest or 4 smallest)

 Compare and order negative and positive numbers.
