Week of June 13– June 17, 2016
Monday
Today we read and discussed Seeds Get Around by Nancy White. We
observed and wrote about our bean seeds. During Reading Workshop, we
read a familiar book with our reading partners. In math, played a game with
three dimensional solids. During Writing Workshop, we completed a Kinds of
Ducks page in our All About Ducks books.
Tuesday
We practiced for our Reading and Writing Celebration. During Writing Workshop, we
completed a diagram page in our All About Ducks books. We also enjoyed a garden lesson.
We harvested lettuce and even tasted some vegetables. We also learned how to correctly form
the letters r, n and m.
Wednesday
Today we enjoyed our trip to the NY Aquarium. We saw so many interesting sea creatures.
The sharks, stingrays and penguins were cool. Our favorite sight was the sea lion show. Thank
you to all the parents who joined us on the trip.
Thursday
Today we had our Reading & Writing Celebration. The children did a great job reading
selections from their Kindergarten Memory Books. The children did a great job! I’m so proud
of everyone.
Friday
We created a poster of a plant and labeled each plant part. During Writing Workshop,
we created the Table of Contents in our All About Ducks books. We had play practice
on the stage. We also celebrated William’s and Summer’s birthdays. Their parents
shared stories with the class.
