MRC Proximity to Discovery Application Form
Guidance Notes
All applications must be completed using this form. Prior to submission applicants
should consider the following:
•
Has a plan been agreed with your chosen industry partner/s as to how the P2D
funding will benefit and develop your relationship and promote knowledge
exchange?
•
Is the proposal creative/innovative and well-planned, aligned with MRC’s
criteria and support a future path towards collaboration, income generation
and impact?
•
The industrial relationship does not need to be completely new. However
where there is a pre-existing relationship is it clear why the proposal is creative
and necessary beyond existing strategies currently being pursued and why will
this new strategy advance the existing relationship and the opportunity for
generating income and impact?
•
Does my proposal have defined objectives and deliverables?
•
Projects which generate matching funding in cash or in kind from industry
partners or other appropriate sources will be considered favourably.
•
Successful applicants will be required to provide a short final report detailing
the outcomes of their project and how they intend to use these outputs to
support the further development of their relationship to encourage
research collaboration by 31 August 2016.
