This is LOVE THE BUS week! We so lucky to have wonderful drivers/TA’s.
Won’ t you take the time to have your son or daughter give flowers or a card
to their driver this week? Even if your child doesn’t ride the bus they are loved
in class as a TA.
Homework: Read nightly 15 minutes. Ask them…who are the characters? The
setting? What is the problem/solution? What do you predict will happen next?
Writing: respond by Friday to their PROMPT OF THE WEEK in their RED
folders. Directions and expectations are inside and went home Friday. As you
know I do not give a lot of homework…but this is an important activity to share
and the writing was a major factor in the lower levels on the TRC assessment.
Those scores went home in the RED folder. Your child chooses 1 prompt from
their level to respond to from their current JUST RIGHT BOOK. We will be
practicing in school but additional practice at home will benefit your child. (20
minutes)

LETTERLAND: Study words. Activities listed on sheet. Test Friday.
Math: students need to practice math facts. Moby Max Math, Fact Fluency or
Number Sense can always help. (5-10 minutes)
Learning Targets This Week
Math:
Students have moved from measurement to Geometry. Students will be
able to learn the shapes and draw and name them. Students will learn
how to partition the shapes.
Literacy:
We are in need of a few items. Any donations would
be greatly appreciated. 

Legos, alphabet letters, expo markers, magnetic
strips, games for INSIDE RECESS,
hard candy, treasure chest items and a shout out to
Callan who looks at this list and helps his mom at the
store!
Students are reviewing character traits and focusing on Main Idea. We
will continue to build on Daily 5 with our PDSA for the month which is
READ TO SOMEONE.
Letterland: Three new vowel teams:ew which as /yoo/ and /oo/ sound. Ue
stands for the same 2 sounds /oo/ in blue and /yoo/ in argue. For the /oo/
sound in foot, I will remind students of the story of the Boot And Foot
Twins.
Social Studies: Black History Month, President’s Day, Chinese New Year
Science: Solid, Liquid and Gases
