Semester One Content
Theme 1: Vorstellung (topics covered in this unit should be reviewed on an ongoing basis)
•Compare and contrast the German and English alphabet and pronunciation
•Greetings, Introductions, and Farewells
•Introduce and compare the verbs heissen, wohnen, kommen and sein
•Introduce the formal and informal forms of address (du/Sie)
•Respond to/ask how you are doing with basic adjectives
•Respond to basic interrogatives (who, what, where, where from, how)
•Use numbers 1 – 100 to quantify (age)
•Asking/telling how you get to school
•Introduce German speaking countries
•Respond to classroom commands
