No two zebras have the same stripe pattern, in fact, if you’ll study a zebra up close you will
find that the stripe pattern even varies from one side of the animal to the other.
Male zebras are called stallions, females mares and baby zebras, foals. They communicate
with one another through a distinct series of barking sounds. They have a very aggressive
nature and are quite competitive among themselves and when angered or threatened, they
pack a mean bite.
But I like them, because they’re cute!
MY ZEBRA DOESN’T DO HOMEWORK
© Robert C Burnham
My Zebra, he’s misbehaving
He will not listen to my plea
I want his tail to dust the furniture
But it only swats at fleas
My zebra doesn’t do my homework
Or even help me out with my chores
I asked him to do my laundry
But he just leaves my clothes on the floor
My zebra will not make my lunch
And he’s never made my bed
I feed him and love him and hug him
But at me he just shakes his head
He thinks he is my best friend
Because he always makes me laugh
But I wonder if he’ll have second thoughts
When I bring home a new giraffe
