Mrs. Kaushik’s and Ms. Gettler’s October Newsletter News + CBI’s As we enter the month of October, we’ll be doing some routine reading assessment (Fall DRA) in October and PALS. Please feel free to ask about the assessment results during parent teacher conferences in November. CBI’s We’ll start our community based instruction trips this month. CBI’s are a systematic approach to teaching our students the skills that they need in the community. We’ll send you more information about each month’s CBI destinations. Absentee Line: 571-434-3241 students will learn about community, and will be practicing their social skills, money skills, and communication skills. Every Wednesday will be our CBI day except the last two weeks of school. We will also be having a special visit from “Heeling House” every Tuesday starting October 13th. October’s Theme The theme for this month will be fall. We’ll be using leaves, apples, and pumpkins etc. in our instruction and class activities. We’ll read books about fall, pumpkins, and other related topics; review our math skills, and learn about seasonal changes. We’ll be describing things about fall in our art projects and writing activities. Please continue reading books with your child for 10-20 minutes daily and check communication sheet each night.
