September Newsletter Kaushik & Gettler [ACADEMICS] In the month of September, we will be learning about the basic role of authority figures at the school, local, state and national levels. We will be practicing skills to be able to follow the leaders. We will practice following rules in classroom, school, home and community. We’ll be using this theme in our instruction and class activities across settings. Welcome to 2015-16School year! As the season will be changing in this month and we will enter in fall on 23rd, we will be talking about Fall season related topics as well. We’ll be describing things about Fall in our art projects and writing activities. Dear Room 1 & 2 parents and families, Welcome to another exciting and wonderful year! We are very excited to be part of your child’s educational journey. We’ll be doing some routine assessments (PALS, DRA etc.) in September. Please feel free to ask about the assessment results during parent teacher conference in November (11/2/15, 11/3/15). Just a reminder first bell rings at 7:30 A.M. Students may not enter building before that time. The tardy bell rings at 7:50 A.M. If you aren’t in the classroom by the time the second bell rings at 7:50, please check in at the school office and someone will be called to walk your child to the classroom. It is very important that your child comes to school on time so they won’t miss any instructional time. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Please make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast in the morning. Community Based Instruction We will be starting our in-school CBIs next week. We will address the school community in our little trips within school. We will be teaching about the responsibilities and ethics of being a RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, READY Bobcat Intern to our students during the in-school CBIs. [REMINDERS] Extra set of season appropriate clothes to leave at school Lunch money (If your child is buying lunch or breakfast) Please check your child’s communication binder every day and write back about how his/her day. Check to see if there is homework. Please read with your child 15-20 minutes/day. [OUR THANKS] A special thanks to parents for coming on Back to School Night and Open House!
