Techniques of specific lifts and correlating muscle groups Recognize various equipment and its use for specific muscle groups Identify groups and scheduled workout STAGE II – ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE PERFORMANCE TASK: Students are expected to demonstrate and understand nutritional information and basic lifts, attendance, portfolio completion and participation is required. OTHER EVIDENCE: Students will be evaluated daily, skill-tested, quizzes midterm, and final exam, written assignments and practical exams. STAGE III: LEARNING PLAN INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES: (Active Engagement, Explicit Instruction, Metacognition, Modeling, Scaffolding) Students will be presented with opportunities to evaluate, refine and practice lifts for mastery. Students will model presenter with correct techniques for all lifts MINI LESSON: Students will be introduced to all wt. Rm. Equipment and resources and proper usage. Students will continue learning and practicing various techniques for specific muscle group lifts. Students will work eventually in groups w specific lift MATERIALS AND RESOURCES: Student portfolios Class packets Requirement sheets Supplemental learning sheets INTERVENTIONS: Instructional adjustments will be made to address the learning needs of specific students. Identify technique problems and methods of corrections. Use teaching strategies that motivate and promote students’ independence and creativity. Identify safety hazards, procedures in wt. Rm. Identify individuals’ production and determine any individual corrections. Identify practices that promote lifelong fitness. Evaluate the effectiveness of lifting instruction, process and self-evaluation. ASSIGNMENTS: Students are expected to dress properly as required in the board approved PE dress code. Class participation is mandatory as well as documentation of performance for each class.
