What does rotate mean? Give an example.
Rotate means spin in place. Earth rotates on
its axis, or a top rotates when it spins.
What does revolve mean? Give an example.
Revolve means orbit, or circle around. Earth
revolves around the sun, and the moon
revolves around earth.
How long does it take earth to orbit around
the sun?
The earth orbits the sun in about 365 ¼ days,
or 52 weeks, or 1 year.
How long does it take earth to make 1 full
rotation on its axis?
It takes 24 hours, or 1 full day.
