AGENDA:
1. Turn
in first vocabulary list (5 words)
from Huck Finn. Then pick one of those vocabulary
words to teach to the rest of the class, from which a
vocabulary list will be compiled (see webpage).
2. In reading groups, read article entitled, “Goodbye,
Cruel Words” and find all deliberate misuse of
spelling and grammar and correct it. At the end of the
article, do you agree (honestly) with the bystander
about the demise of English? Should we care? Why
or why not?
3. Determine 1) three books that should be banned or included
in the FMS 11th grade curriculum, and 3) why they should be
banned or included (consider such issues as theme, relevance,
language, school standards, reading level, etc.). Turn in
when complete.
