Edward A. Piper
Experience
Ed Piper is an associate in the firm's Labor and Employment Group. His practice covers
all aspects of labor and employment law, including both counseling and litigation. He
has significant experience in matters involving misappropriation of trade secrets,
noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements, employee privacy, data security, and
employment-related antitrust issues. Ed is also active in the firm's Technology and
Intellectual Property Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Ed was an associate in the Employment Law Department at
Paul Hastings LLP in Palo Alto, California. During law school, Ed served as an extern
with the United States Attorneys' Offices for the Northern and Eastern Districts of
California. He also directed and competed in a number of national Moot Court and
Mock Trial competitions.
Representative Work

Represented medical staffing company in lawsuit seeking to enforce a “no-hire”
agreement; obtained favorable settlement (Wash. Superior Court 2015).

Assisted in representation of software company in lawsuit alleging violation of
employee noncompetition agreement and misappropriation of trade secrets;
obtained favorable ruling following motion for temporary restraining order (Or.
Circuit Court 2015).

