First, he has a long standing interest in bone biology, particularly the way that the skeleton responds to exercise and specifically the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind that response. His second area of interest is in the development of a new therapeutic target for cancer and other diseases. This work is based on targeting an unusual family of cell surface receptors that are made up of a receptor and an accessory protein called a receptor activity modifying protein with selective novel biological and chemical agents.
