Make sure to copy them into your Glossary (at the back of your composition book). Hyperbole – the use of exaggerated language to make a point. Allusion – a reference to other literary works or historical events. Rhetorical question – a question used to make a statement rather than to obtain information. Repetition – restating an idea using the same words Restatement – repeating an idea in a variety of ways Parallelism – repeating grammatical structures (for example: “I came, I saw, I conquered.”) Reading Vocabulary -As you complete the week’s reading, make sure to notice these words in context and copy them in to your Glossary (at the back of your composition book).
