Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia will be on a working visit to New York, United States from 22nd to 27th September 2014; and has explicitly expressed to NCCIM his intent to have on board a large delegation of the private sector during his visit, especially those from the 5 constituent chambers of NCCIM - to leverage on the platform to build linkages with US businesses (NCCIM, working in collaboration with MIDA, has been tasked to ensure that a dynamic programme and arrangements will be put in place for the visit)
We herewith write to seek the assistance of each constituent chamber to garner from amongst your members to participate, a target of 15 from each constituent chamber , in the visit to the
United States, covering Boston and New York (Y.B MITI Minister will also be on the visit).
1) The visit is open to participation from all business sectors (despite of the fact that the potential sectors that have been indicated - Medical devices, Biotechnology, Advanced Materials,
Environmental Technology, Industrial Machinery & Equipoment and Information Technology).
2) The Private Sector ’s Visit Programme is from 21st to 27th September (Boston and New York) - a copy of the tentative outline programme is attached.
3) Participation will enable a golden opportunity for B2B meetings to be arranged (with the assistance of MIDA/MATRADE in US, US Chamber of Commerce, and the US-ASEAN Business
Council).
4) There will also be special briefing sessions by US Government agencies and trade associations; and with special arrangements on the signing of MOA/MOUs, and display of goods are permitted.

5) Details of choices in hotels and flight, and logistic arrangements - including the option for bookings, are being compiled (and will be distributed as soon as available)
6) A pre-departure briefing, in the presence of YAB Prime Minister, for the delegation is set on 10th
September 2014; and there will also be a post visit meeting, again in the presence of YAB Prime
Minister, to garner feedbacks from the delegation (primarily, for the Government to assess as to how it can further facilitate/add impetus to the outcomes of the B2B meetings during the visit.
NCCIM also learnt from the Prime Minister’s Office that the details and proceedings of the Private sector’s participation shall be tabled for cabinet discussion )
NCCIM strongly request for a strong support for each of its constituent chamber, with a display of a unified private sector front; and look forward to a participation of 15 pax from each of the its constituent chambers (Registration form is attached)
