Architect Purpose Purpose: Provide architectural skills in planning, design, and coordination of UT Arlington managed projects. Serve as representative for OFPC managed projects. Resolve design and budget issues. Negotiate solutions. Work with diverse stakeholder's interests. Essential Functions Function 1: Provide technical architectural review of plans and specifications. Quality control review; technical guidance and oversight for UT Arlington-contracted projects. Prepare programming, design, bid and construction documents for construction projects. 40 % Time Function 2: Assist with establishing campus architectural standards. Consult with local and state architects, engineers, estimators, programmers, contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, and vendors. 30 % Time Function 3: Act as liaison between architects, contractors, and university staff during major construction projects. Representative for OFPC-managed projects. 10 % Time Function 4: Provide on-site inspection/coordination of construction projects to assure compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and budget restrictions. 10 % Time Function 5: Prepare required reports for UT System and maintain appropriate files. Attend design and progress meetings. 5 % Time Function 6: Prepare drawings for university renovation using AutoCAD applications. 5 % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Use of UTA owned vehicle. Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Architectural degree from accredited college or university; or, equivalent experience and education resulting in current valid license as Architect in State of Texas. 7 years experience in architectural design and inspection. Licensed professional architect, registered with the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners.
