Narrator: Cinderella’s house. Cinderella is cleaning the floor. Her stepmother is
putting her make-up on at the dressing table and her stepsister2 is knitting.
Narrator: Cinderella’s sister ( stepsister1 ) enters with a letter.
Stepsister1: Look, Mother! We got an invitation from the palace.
Stepsister2: Really?
Stepmother: Let me see it!
Stepmother: I see. We must go and make one of my daughters the bride of the
prince.
Stepsister1: Let’s go ready. Cinderella, help me dress up!
Cinderella: Yes, Sister.
Stepsister2: Help me first.
Cinderella: Yes, Sister.
Cinderella: I want to go with you, Mother.
Mother: Don’t be silly.
Stepsister1: Such a dirty girl may not go to the palace.
Stepsister2: Stay at home, Ugly girl!
Act 1 Scene 2
Narrator: ? (needs to say something here?) (because it is not
clear for reader to know what happen..)
Fairy Godmother: Cinderella, Cinderella! Don’t you want to go to the ball?
Cinderella: Of course, I do, but…
Fairy Godmother: Shall I help you go here?
Cinderella: Can you do that? I can’t believe it.
Fairy Godmother: Yes, I can. Let’s try.
Fairy Godmother: This pumpkin shall become a coach and there nice shall become
horses. Look! One! Two! Three!
Fairy Godmother: Look out of the window. That is your carriage.
Cinderella: Hoe nice!
Fairy Godmother: Next your dress shall be changed.
Fairy Godmother: Go in behind that.
Fairy Godmother: All right? Don’t be afraid! I’m going to change you into a beautiful
lady just a princess.
Fairy Godmother: All right. Come out!
Fairy Godmother: Now, you can go to the ball.
Cinderella: I’m very happy. Thank you for your kindness.
Fairy Godmother: But you must come back before midnight, because the spell only
lasts till twelve o’clock. Don’t forget.
Cinderella: All right. I’ll come back before midnight.
Act 2 Scene 1
Narrator: The hall of the palace. A ball scene. The stepmother and sisters are sitting
respectfully at the corner. The prince is bored.
Voice (everyone): Miss Cecillia Cindea!
Prince: Will you please dance with me?
Cinderella: Certainly, Your Highness.
Act 2 Scene 2
Narrator: While the prince and Cinderella are dancing, the bells of midnight ring.
Cinderella is startled.
Cinderella: I must go home now.
Prince: Why! Why don’t you dance all night?
Cinderella: I’m sorry but I must go home at once. Excuse me!
Prince: Wait! Wait!
Act 2 Scene 3
Narrator: At the same time.
Stepmother: Now let’s go home.
Stepsister1: Yes, let’s.
Stepsister2: I’m sleepy now.
Act 2 Scene 4
Narrator: After Cinderella runs.
Prince: The young lady has gone. Who is she? Where does she live? I want to meet
her again.
Servant: Your Highness, this shoe was left in the corridor. It must be the lady’s.
Prince: Oh, it must be hers. I’ll look for her with the help of the shoe. Let’s start in the
morning.
Servant: Certainly, Your Highness.
Act 3 Scene 1
Narrator: At Cinderella’s home now.
Stepmother: Well, who do you think that girl was?
Stepsister1: She was very beautiful.
Stepsister2: That’s a real princess.
Act 3 Scene 2
Servant: The prince is looking for his bride. Young ladies, please put on this shoe.
Narrator: Two sisters each struggle to step forward before the other. S1 puts on the
shoe. Her foot is too large for the shoe.
Prince: You are not my bride.
Stepsister2: Ouch!
Prince: No, you are not my bride.
Servant: There is one more lady here.
Stepmother: Oh, no! That’s not a lady. She is a maid. She can’t be your bride.
Servant: Young lady, will you please try the shoe?
Prince: Oh, you are my bride. Let’s go to the palace and get married.
Cinderella: I feel as if I were in a dream.
Stepmother: That can’t be true!
Stepsister1.2: I can’t believe it.
