ESL Oral Communication for Health Care
WHAT?
An oral communication class for SMC employees whose first
language is not English
WHERE?
Swedish Medical Center – Room (on campus site to be
determined)
WHEN?
7:45 to 9:15 AM, Tues & Thurs, April 3 - June 12, 2007
WHO?
Anyone whose first language is not English who wants to
improve speaking skills for working in health care.
Multiple skill levels will be accommodated.
WHY?
To improve English pronunciation, phrasing and inflection
To be better understood by patients and coworkers
To know more about the appropriate use of slang
To become more comfortable with telephone conversations
To consider career advancement or further training
HOW?
Class will be taught by an experienced ESL instructor from
North Seattle Community College. Tuition is only $25 plus
books. Speak with your manager about having your
department cover or reimburse your costs!
