The Fox and the Grapes a Fable by Aesop
A hungry fox looked up and noticed some ripe black grapes hanging from a vine on a very tall tree. He jumped and jumped trying to reach them. Again and again he jumped, but no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t reach the grapes. He was very disappointed; they were just too high for him.
Finally, in order to hide his disappointment, he decided he didn’t really want the grapes.
He wandered off and comforted himself by saying, “I’m sure they weren’t ripe anyway.”
