Course Description
This course is designed to teach students
how to use math to solve problems and
communicate.
There will be a strong focus on critical
thinking skills and logic.
We will try a variety of approaches to each
concept and address issues such as math
anxiety while integrating problem-solving
and reasoning strategies with mathematical
skills, using problems encountered in
everyday life.
This class will help prepare learners for
higher level math courses by building an
understanding of mathematical relationships
by focusing on problem-solving skills,
developing estimation and mental math
strategies, and integrating algebra,
geometry, and data analysis with arithmetic.
