This is directly proportional to the value for K. Note that it takes about .5 seconds for the temperature in the beam to stabilize for both cases. Problem 3: COMSOL Results: MAPLE Results (Exact Solution): The COMSOL results show the piecewise input across a unit length of 1. The COMSOL results line up with the MAPLE solution. A better accuracy can be achieved with a finer mesh or a smaller time-step (mainly for MAPLE). For comparison, the results are accurate enough to make conclusions.
