Business Development Analyst Job Reference: LM People Job Code/Title: Location: Programme / Functional Group: MST11732 E4295I / Bus Devel Analyst Sr Stf Farnborough MST LT - Functional Description of Business Environment: The Manager International Business Development (IBD) will report to their respective team lead who in turn reports to the UK IBD Director. The Manager IBD role is a key part of the UK based IBD team accountable for securing new business across the MST Portfolio in UK. The IBD team, led by the IBD Director, is accountable for the complete MST portfollio of new business in the UK. The team is designed to secure new business for the UKIS P&L centre and a range of US based LM MST P&L centres. The portfolio ranges from Merlin Helicopters, through distribution technologies, training and sustainment systems for Air, Land, Sea and Cyber and includes energy. The UK IBD personnel are split in to two teams, the Havant site and virtual team. The two main UK LM MST facility locations are Farnborough and Havant, with Havant having a significantly greater capability in terms of number of personnel and greater range of engineering and support functions. The Manager IBD will be responsible for the performance and management of their respetive market segments and accoutable for his/her personal order commitments. Evaluates and reviews customer research, point-of-sale and syndicated data. Reports findings for majormarketing, distribution, and manufacturing proposals and their impact on the sales function. Participates in the central development and implementation of new products, re-launches, new business building programs, sales rationale, etc. May also participate in presales or sales meetings to review proposed plans. Functions as a liaison between regional sales and marketing function. Provides and/or initiates sales analysis affecting distribution, spending as it relates to volume, brand promotional strategy and selling tools. Specific Job Description: Develop and successfully execute strategies to achieve agreed LRP sales. Develop and successfully execute win plans for specific opportunities and/or market segments. Thorough understanding of market segments and internal capabilities to request and advise IRAD and internal investment strategies to generate and progress the opportunity pipeline. Create actionable stakeholder management plans to identify and manage key customer and industry contacts to enable new business commitments. Required Skills: Effective IBD team member responsible for the overall performance of the designated military flight training market segments. Accoutnable for individual LRP order commitments. Responsible for the designated military flight training market segments including strategy development and strategy execution. Responsible for the management of the identification, qualification and pursuit of new business opportunities within the designated military flight training market segments. Accoutable for accurate competitor intellignce and market insight for designated military flight training market segment including price to win. Responsible for individual reporting functions including New Busines Funds expedniture against planned agreed EAC limits, all opportunity data within the BDOT database tools and routine (weekly and monthly) reporting to the IBD Team Lead and Director and respective Lines of Business/P&L centres. Contribute to the monthly progress assessment and resource planning activities. Provide accurate LRP data for subsequent financial year planning activities. Create actionable stakeholder management plans in conjunction with the designated P&L centres and act as customer advocate during new business captures. Coordinate and lead all New Business Board activities within market segment up to and including Pursue for new business opportunities. Support capture activities including proposals and market assessement, competitor intelligence and price to win goals. Support of designated trade shows, conferences, exhibitions etc. Develop and deliver marketing materials, such as concept papers, white papers at conferences, exhibitions and customer meetings to aid customer/industry understanding in order to shape the market segments.
