Programme Operations employ in the region of 90 personnel consisting of Programme Managers, Control Account Managers, Master Planners, Risk Managers, Programme and Administration Support personnel these personnel are deployed to various programmes across the site. The Programmes at Ampthill can be split into three business areas: Vehicle Systems, Protection Systems, and Special Projects. Key programmes at the site include the Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP), Scout Specialist Vehicle (SV) turret integration, and LEAPP (Land Environment Air Picture Provision). Specific Job Description: Lockheed Martin has vacancies for Project Planners and is developing the Project Controls role at its Ampthill site. Career opportunities exist for both these roles. Individuals from scheduling/planning or cost controlling backgrounds with the characteristics and capabilities to become Controllers will be provided with the necessary support and training to fulfil their potential. Accountable to Programme/Project Manager or Control Account Manager for the planning, monitoring and controlling of scope, schedule, resource & cost on assigned projects. Scope resource and cost planning, monitoring, cost reporting and Earned Value Anaysis will be performed using SAP. MS Project will be utilized to produce schedules and associated progress reporting. The Planner/Project Controller shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Schedule all activities associated with assigned Projects/Control Accounts to produce an integrated critical path schedule, update as required, and report potential problems/problem areas to the Control Account Manager for action. • Resource load schedules (where applicable) and maintain a Performance Measurement Baseline in MS Project. Analyse and report project progress and resource requirements. • Enter and maintain the monthly project forecasts in the company SAP system using the EAC workbench. • Update and evaluate the accuracy of the project forecast by assessing actual cost incurred and earned value achieved for the control accounts. Use calculations such as TCPI and IEAC to validate the forecast. • Assists Control Account Manager in generating data/information for presentations and reports to project management or the customer. • Consolidate data in the schedule and in project cost reports for Control Account Manager’s review and approval. • Generate Variance Analysis Reports on a monthly basis to cover schedule, cost and variance at completion information with corrective actions. Work with the CAM to implement the corrective actions to re-align the work to the baseline. • Support Control Account Manager in raising Baseline Change Requests, getting approval and implementing them into the baseline. • Open and close booking numbers and co-ordinate changes. • Ensure Work Authorisation Documents are prepared and get approved such that the baseline can be used to measure performance. Advise the Control Account Manager on the use of appropriate EV techniques for the type and duration of the work package. • Required Skills: A strong individual who will ensure that best planning practice is always adhered to, even in occasional pressurised situations. Proven understanding of all aspects of Earned Value Management (EVM) The ability to quickly pick up new tool sets and processes, with good analytical skills. Proven ability to analyse schedules and cost data for impending difficulties and clearly communicate to Project Manager/Control Account Manager. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Desirable Skills: Working knowledge of and experience in MS Project 2007/2010 or similar scheduling tools. Working knowledge of and experience in SAP cost planning & reporting Experience in the development, maintenance and control of complex event-driven Integrated Master Schedules (IMS). Experience in planning and scheduling in complex design and development programmes (preferably MoD or Defence related) and be able to understand and work with a technical and skill-diverse team Standard Job Description: Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs.
