The business depends on interaction with Lockheed Martin in the US and trades with suppliers and customers outside of the UK with the resulting need for appropriate export licensing and compliance Specific Job Description: Reporting to Ampthill General Counsel and managing a team of two Trade Compliance Analysts, the International Trade Compliance Manager will be responsible for trade compliance including specifically compliance with UK and US export licensing requirements and for applicable import controls. The Trade Compliance team is responsible for overseeing/arranging shipment of goods to and from site and transfers of export controlled technical data. The successful candidate will be required to interact with internal and external stakeholders and be the "go to" person for any employee with any trade controls compliance issues or queries. They will be responsible for all export and import activities, representing LMUK Ampthill to Government agencies responsible for auditing compliance, developing and maintaining a Training Plan for the identification, delivery and evaluation of International Trade related training across the business together with provision of guidance on all aspects of International Trade. Required Skills: The candidate should have experience working within the Defence/Aerospace Industry The candidate must have a good understanding of UK import and export requirements for military products and a good basic understanding of US ITAR and EAR regulations including their impact in the UK. The role requires good administration, communication and organisational skills. The candidate must be prepared to present training material, export presentations and participate in external industry meetings if required. The applicant should have the ability regularly to contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards and will be considered as a focal point at Ampthill for all aspects of UK and US Export regulations. The applicant must be able to perform in a customer focussed business environment, cope with competing priorities without significant direction and must be able to work to and achieve set objectives and targets as required by the business. The candidate should have some experience/understanding of the overlap between and layered requirements of security, export and section 5 compliance Experience working for a UK subsidiary of a US deference company is an advantage but not a prerequisite Also an advantage but not a requirement is experience of exporting military equipment to the Middle East The candidate should ideally have some commercial experience/background as well as Trade Compliance or otherwise be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to deliver the role of Trade Compliance within a business focussed environment Standard Job Description: Manages the planning and coordination of import/export activities, including the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, related customer service, brokerage and customs transactions. Responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs the compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products. Directs research and resolutions to customer or supplier issues. Oversees liaisons with internal and external worldwide import/export operations and organizations. Manages negotiation with foreign customers to develop handling agreements. Oversees liaisons with U.S. customs representatives to resolve problems Typical Minimum Education & Experience: Ideally require Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through extensive professional experience.
