I sent home a flyer listing the activities that will be done at school and the ones that students will be held accountable for at home. Reading and research will be done in class. Once all of the items are finished, I will be sending them home, so students can work on putting them on their trifold poster board. Students should be thinking about a costume and props that will go with their report. They will work on a speech in class and take it home to practice. Students should bring in their reports on April 18th. They will be presenting their speeches in costume during our Wax Museum on April 19th. We worked on a new vocabulary list this week. I noticed that students struggled getting back into studying their words. Some students did not do too well on their tests. Please remember that words will come home on Mondays and should be studied throughout the week. Ready A-Z Ready Test: Please remember to have students take at least one test per week. Absences: There has been a lot of absences, lately. I understand that students have been sick. However, please make sure that your child is asking for missed assignments when they return. I put make up work on their desks when they are out. Please try not to keep students home on Fridays whenever possible, as it is difficult for some of them to make up their tests. Some students are forgetting to turn in their make-up tests, and we are having to go back and reprint them. It is becoming very time consuming trying to make-up Friday tests.
